Happening this week!





Stencil Madness: Sue Rosenberg
Friday, Feb 28: 10am-2pm

Stencils are BIG right now, and Stencil Madness will expose students to the world of stencils and Sue's humongous collection!  We will use stencils from Tim Holtz, Crafters Workshop, Heidi Swapp, and others to create a tag, two cards,and a small accordion book.  We'll use a variety of techniques and mediums to complete the projects.  Bring your class kit; and if you have favorite coloring mediums, feel free to bring them.  Othewrwise, Sue will have everything you need!



Mini Steampunk Top Hat: Rosemarie Bustillos

Rosemarie is bringing just about everything you’ll need to make this delightful miniature top hat. You will need to bring an empty cereal box or thin to medium chipboard (cold here), glue gun and glue sticks (or use mine), black distress ink pad, scissors, pen, additional charms are optional, and a SMILE. Her kit will include: template, steampunk style material, feathers, ribbon/lace, pearls, Mod Podge and brush, Clock face, key, mini domino, bingo piece, clock hands, gears, and stick pins and beads. Now, really!  Is this class irresistible?

Day of the Dead Theater: Sue Rosenberg:

This is a great little shelf-sitter! The stage is set with a variety of skulls and bones. This is fun, not scary! Sue brings the theaters (pre-cut from masonite), papers, paints, and stuff. You will need your regular class kit.

Students will need their class kits; and though Sue will bring plenty of all of this "stuff," you may want to bring:  X-Acto knife, things to color with, and/or your own DOD or Halloween papers and adornments.

Class: Steampunk Theater with Sue Rosenberg




Join Sue R. Saturday and assemble a seriously cute Steampunk Theater, complete with gears and a clock.  Be prepared to paint, paper, embellish, and stamp it.  Bring your class kit and an X-Acto knife, though Sue will probably have what you need on hand, both in tools and in her special steampunk stash!

At this point, there are only two slots left, though Sue will be happy to run another class if needed.

Class: Paris in Distress with Sue Rosenberg




Join Sue Saturday and create 2 wonderfully distressed cards featuring a Paris Theme.  She uses multiple mediums and tools to achieve the distressed effect, including acrylic paint, gel medium, sandpaper, distress inks, foam brushes, distress markers, and acrylic dabbers.  You'll learn to "weather" a photograph to achieve a fabulous vintage finish and you'll also work with some of the more traditional distressing techniques.  A fun class you won't want to miss!

Altered Books #5: A Series Workshop with Sue Rosenberg

Sue will conclude her altered books series with this class and with encouragement and interest, she may teach the series again.  Please let Nancy know if you would like to sign up for a future repeat of this class to learn techniques for altering books including collage, stamping, journaling, mixed media, etc.

Class: It Takes a Village with Sue Rosenberg




Join Sue R. Saturday morning and create a village!  This fabulous mini vignette consists of 3 houses that fit into slots on a platform.  You'll work with Sue to assemble, paint, collage, and embellish your village, bringing it to life right in front of your eyes!  Sue will supply everything, but feel free to bring your own decorative papers, collage items, photos, printed quotes, poetry pages, etc.  Sign up quick as space is limited!

Class: It Takes a Village with Sue Rosenberg



Join Sue R. Friday morning and create a village!  This fabulous mini vignette consists of 3 houses that fit into slots on a platform.  You'll work with Sue to assemble, paint, collage, and embellish your village, bringing it to life right in front of your eyes!  At the end of class, Sue will photograph the villages together to create the China Phoenix 2 version of "Our Town".  You'll want to live there!

Class: Holiday Card Master Sheet with Sue Rosenberg



Join Sue R. this Friday and create a 2' x 3' master sheet with a holiday background, which can be used to make at least 30 cards.  You'll be using gesso, acrylic paint, rubber stamps, collage elements, and embellishments.  Bring an apron, as this is going to get messy!  But it will be fun, sort of like fingerpainting when you were a kid!

Class: Altered Books, Part 1, Getting Started with Sue Rosenberg




Join Sue R. Friday morning for the first class in a 4-part series (to take place over the course of 4-months) featuring techniques for creating altered books.  During Friday's session she will take you through the first stages of altering an old book, which she will supply.  She'll show you how to removed pages, adhere pages, and even walk you through the first 2-page spread.  

Be sure to bring your class kit, plus an X-Acto knife, and any papers or ephemera you would like to use.  Sue will have a stash of papers and ephemera on hand, but feel free to make this book your own using items that speak to you.  

Future sessions during this ongoing workshop will cover additional altered book techniques that you will surely use again and again.

Class: Mixed Media Triptych with Sue Rosenberg






Join Sue Friday morning and create a beautiful mixed media collage project you'll be proud to display.  Elements of Steampunk combined with balloon images set the stage for this stylish piece.  Sue will have  a variety of papers on hand so you can add your own unique touch.  Bring your class kit, but add an Xacto knife, awl, and a cutting pad if you have them.

Class: Mixed Media Pocket Card with Sue Rosenberg




Join Sue R. Saturday morning and you'll create a dual pocket using one of her templates, but the fun doesn't stop there!  You'll continue the creative journey with a travel themed tag and ATC that utilizes collage and mixed media techniques.  These items slip perfectly into the pockets and while each element on its own is fabulous, together the results are astounding!  The finished project can be used in cards or altered books, or, with an added background, can be suitable for framing.  Sue will supply the paper and the embellishments from her travel collection.  Students need to be sure they have scissors and a bone folder in addition to their class kit.

Class: Cityscapes with Sue Rosenberg
