Spring Easel Cards...these beautiful cards showcase wonderful new images by Hero Arts and Kathy Rosecrans brings them to life with her exquisite details. Class: Easel Cards w/ Kathy Rosecrans

Kathy is back and she has lots of new classes featuring beautiful cards lined up over the next few months. She kicks off her return this Saturday and will share with you her secret for building these gorgeous easel cards. You'll get to play with some of the fabulous new Hero Arts images and learn a construction technique that will surely "wow" the recipients of these great art pieces. These projects are stunning and showcase Kathy's trademark use of lovely trims and delicate details.

Class: Alice in Wonderland w/ Cheryl Valadez

Don't you just love all of the artist interpretations of the classic children's story, Alice in Wonderland? There are so many beautiful illustrations available, you can re-live the story with new eyes every time you read it. BUT, let's not forget the wonderful sketches that originally brought the story to life so many years ago. Join me this Saturday and we'll use a couple of those timeless images to create two Alice in Wonderland themed cards. We'll use lots of details to give these images added personality and we'll have a great time in the process.

NEW Tim Holtz Dies Have Landed at CP2!

You've been wanting them for a long time and now you can add them to your tools. The NEW Tim Holtz Alterations Dies by Sizzix are here and they are calling your name! These dies are very unique and they capture Tim Holtz' grungy chic style perfectly. They're made to work in tandem with his Distress Ink line and rubber stamps by Stamper's Anonymous. They're going fast, but don't worry...if you missed out on a set you want, just let Nancy know and she will be happy to order it for you.

You might be wondering if they are compatible with the CuttleBug and I am happy to report that, YES, they are! Here's some pics and info, that you might find useful:

You'll need a Tim Holtz Alterations Die, a piece of cardstock (or fabric, or metallic foil, etc.), 2 "B" plates, and your CuttleBug.


Stacking from the bottom up: start with one of the "B" plates, next add the cardstock, then the Alterations Die (facing down), and lastly, the second "B" plate.


Run this sandwich through your CuttleBug as you normally would.


Then enjoy the fruits of your labor and create something fabulous!


What did I do with the pieces I cut out? I created this super quick and easy card. I would normally never condone creating a card without some sort of stamping and I'm sure Nancy would be in full agreement with that, however, these dies are so beautiful and stylish, I was willing to make an exception on this occasion. After I cut out my pieces, this card took just 10 minutes to assemble. Now, let's say it all together, "Tim Holtz is a genuis"! ;D

Don't forget to sign up for Anne Engelhardt's Tin Shrine Card class going on this Saturday (April 17th) from 1:00-3:00pm. The class fee is $25.00 and you just need to add a stylus to your class kit to complete the beautiful metalwork.

Stop by the shop and see what Nancy is cooking up for tomorrow's Wednesday class. The class is every Wednesday from 10:00am-12:00pm and usually costs $5.00, sometimes a little more depending on the project. The projects vary, but you can always depend on them to be fun and fabulous!

Did you know...there is a link in the sidebar (upper right hand corner) that will take you directly to the CP2 website. You can take a look at more Class Descriptions or a peek at the Class Calendar. The calendar usually has the classes listed for 3-months at a time, so you can look at those dates and work them into your own schedule.

Class: Dreamcatcher Card with Judy Duke

Judy rounds out her trio of classes this visit with a special Dreamcatcher Card. Every space on this card has been utilized to showcase the glorious heritage of the Southwest. The front of the card is adorned with a dimensional dreamcatcher image and the inside of the card opens up to display an artfully decorated accordian fold embellished with carefully placed cut outs. Even the back of the card has been used to display a folded note, secured with brads and a strap.

April 24th, Saturday: 1:30pm - 3:30pm (class fee $20.00)

Class: Sueded "T" with Judy Duke

Come join Judy Duke Saturday morning (April 24th) and learn the secret behind making this truly amazing Sueded Tee-shirt. You have to see this shirt up close to see how cool the effect is, but it really has the look and feel of suede.

Bring your own cotton blend T-shirt or other shirt as long as the material is not too stretchy and can withstand the heat from a heat tool and iron on a hot setting. We will be stamping using Incredible inks and Liquid Appliqué to achieve the colorful background with the suede effect. (If you’re not a shirt person, bring a canvas or poplin bag.)

April 24th, Saturday: 10:00am - 12:30pm (class fee is $20.00)

Class: Cave Card with Judy Duke

Judy Duke of B & J's Art Stamps will be in town next week and she has 3 awesome technique filled classes to share with everyone! Her projects perfectly capture the spirit of the Southwest.

The first project features a 3 dimensional Cave Card. Peer through the opening in the front of the card and gaze upon a beautiful New Mexico landscape. Judy will have many different images available to create different themes. Various techniques will be used to build this special card including stamping, stippling, direct to paper, embossing, etc. All materials will be provided, but be sure and bring your class kit.

April 23rd, Friday: 1:00pm - 4:00pm (class fee is $30.00)
