Class: Simply Handmade w/ Kathy Rosecrans

Join Kathy this Saturday afternoon for her Simply Handmade Card Class. Kathy works magic with these new images by Hero Arts and creates three stunning cards that evoke memories of a simpler time. A time when the philosophy of "handmade" was not only engaged as an economical source to provide for the family, but also represented the skilled craftsmanship of a finely assembled heirloom to be handed down from generation to generation. These cards have a vintage feel to them and Kathy adds her stunning signature trims and buttons to make them sparkle. You won't want to miss this class!

Class: Beauteous Book with Anne Engelhardt

I apologize for the delay in posting the details and photos for Anne's Staurday afternoon class. I am sure, however, you'll take one look at this beautiful book and forget all about being upset with me ;D Anne has proven herself, once again, to be the Paper Sorceress and whipped up a project so impressive and professional looking that your friends and family will not believe it was made by hand. These pictures do not do this gorgeous book justice, as it needs to be seen in person to really capture how wonderful it is. It has a sewn binding and Anne uses lots of her signature Washi and specialty papers to create the pages inside. When I took these photos, I literally went through each page, one at a time, admiring the craftsmanship. You won't find a beautiful, one of a kind, handmade book of this caliber at any of the stationary stores!

Take both of Anne's classes on Saturday for $50.00 and save $6.00 off the regular class fee.

July 17th, Saturday: 1:30pm - 4:00pm (regular class fee is $28.00, but take both classes for only $50.00. That's a $6.00 savings!)

Class: Skulls Rock w/ Cheryl Valadez

Hey, that's me! I hope everyone had a terrific 4th of July celebration! This Saturday I am teaching a class that will combine lots of tools by our favorite male craft-lebrity, Tim Holtz and some of the quirky Sugar Skull images from Bombshell Stamps. We'll get down and dirty with some grunge board and give it a little pop with the new texture fades. We'll toss some Distress Inks into the mix and even add some Distress Stickles and Distress Crackle in there for good measure. We'll be using the following Copics on our sugar skulls, so if you have some of these colors, feel free to bring them to class. Just be sure you have your name on them so there is no confusion ;D A Sharpie works great. Also, if you have a Vintage Photo Distress Ink pad and a sponge applicator of sorts, feel free to bring those, as well. If not, don't worry, I will have those items in class. If you have questions about this class, feel free to drop me a line by email to cvaladez@comcast.net.

Happenings...an update of the latest and greatest!

New Stuff has arrived in the store! Lots of Tim Holtz Alterations Dies and Texture Fades, Hero Arts stamps, B Line stamps, images from Deadbeat Designs, and some new Copic markers. Get 'em while their hot, because these items won't stay on the shelves long!

Favorites have been restocked! Distress Ink Pads and Reinkers have been replenished, and so have the Stickles and Distress Stickles racks.

Merc Art tools are also back in stock! Stop by and round out your arsenal of these high quality metal crafting tools.

China Phoenix 2 will be closed on Saturday, July 3rd in observance of the long Fourth of July Weekend. HOWEVER, if you are a fan of Zentangling, bring your paper and pencils and pens by the shop on Friday, July 2nd. If enough Zentanglers stop by, you'll do a "round robin", where each person does their starting line and passes it around the group with everyone adding to it. A very organic process where the results promise to be exciting and creative.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!!
